The Thirty-Sixth
Col. Greusel went as far as Houston, the county seat of Texas county, meeting with no opposition. Like all our other generals and colonels, he issued a threatening proclamation to the Secessionists of that region.-What effect it had upon the ruffians doth not yet appear. Lieut Col. Joslyn escorted the supply train to within thirty miles of Springfield, meeting no enemy. The ghost stories which were rife a week ago, were a part of the game of Price to keep our army form pressing him too closely.
As soon as Col. Joslyn returned to Rolla he came to Springfield, Ill, on some business connected with the officers of the regiment, where he remained over Sunday. On Monday Capt. Baldwin started for Rolla, escorting the wives of Col. Joslyn and Major Barry-the Col. probably waiting for them at Springfield. There was talk a few days since that the regiment would go on to Springfield, Mo., and join the main army, but the appearances are now that Hunter will leave Lane to watch Price, while he , with the main body of this army will return to the Mississippi and assist in reducing Columbus and clearing the way to Memphis.
